Farewell to Summer
On the second Saturday of September the people of Ragusa gather together to bid farewell to the Summer
in Marina di Ragusa. Over two days, tourists and locals alike celebrate the rich culinary traditions of the area
and can visit a large number of photographic and antique exhibitions. A firm favourite is the parade of vintage
motors that takes place through the town.
The delicacies offered by the stands in the main square include the most typical of Ragusa's dishes: cavati (a type
of pasta) with tomato sauce and pork, succulent sausages and to finish why not try a hearty helping of home-made
ice-cream, perhaps the real star of the show!
The Sunday evening sees the Mediterranean itself provide the backdrop to a fireworks competition on one of Marina's
piers.
